Batac City, Ilocos Norte<\/strong> \u2014 The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Productivity and Development Center, conducted an Introductory Course on ISO 21001:2018 \u2013 Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS)<\/strong> for key personnel of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU)<\/strong> from June 24 to 26, 2025<\/strong> at the University Review Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course was designed to equip MMSU with the knowledge and skills needed to support its strategic shift from ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) to the\u00a0ISO 21001:2018 EOMS<\/strong>\u2014a standard tailored specifically to enhance the performance of educational institutions, improve learner satisfaction, and foster continuous improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course brought together 30 participants, including the\u00a0EOMS Core Team<\/strong>, university officers, and selected personnel, engaged in an intensive learning program focused on the\u00a0policy framework, principles, structure<\/strong>, and specific\u00a0requirements of ISO 21001:2018<\/strong>. It also emphasized how the standard aligns with\u00a0MMSU\u2019s vision of quality and inclusive education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MMSU participants actively share insights and raise questions during the open forum of the Introductory Course on ISO 21001:2018 \u2013 Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS).<\/sub><\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Participants explored the key differences between ISO 21001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015, and discussed adjustments needed in the higher education setting. Through lectures, group discussions, and practical workshops<\/strong>, they reviewed MMSU\u2019s existing QMS documents and began aligning them with ISO 21001:2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
