The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) through its Productivity and Development Center (PDC) and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) recently launched the training course on Smart Transformation for Agribusiness, which introduced affordable technologies and showcased best practices of enterprises that have successfully adopted smart technology in agribusiness. The course runs from May 8-12, 2023 at the Richmonde Hotel, Ortigas Center,
Pasig City.

Agricultural professionals and practitioners, chief executive officers, managers of agribusinesses, and academic researchers represent the 22 nominated participants from the 12 APO member economies. The five-day training course will also bring in international and local resource persons who are experts in food supply chain management and sustainable agribusinesses. Representatives from APO Japan are also present to oversee the implementation of the said course.

After three years since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the said training course is the first APO in-person training hosted by the DAP, the National Productivity Organization. It aims to gain insights into smart micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) agribusiness transformations that boost productivity and profitability, and assist businesses to be more competitive while enabling consumers to benefit from higher-quality food at lower prices with less food wastes.
