
Pasig City, Philippines – The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), in its capacity as an accredited Certification Body (CB) for Productivity Specialists of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), conducted a two-day training for 18 assessors and internal auditors on March 26 to 27, 2026 at the Astoria Plaza.
The initiative aimed to equip participants with a deeper understanding of the Certified Productivity Specialist (CPS) certification scheme, particularly its rationale, assessment processes, and quality assurance requirements.
Resource Persons Niña Maria Estudillo and Ana Marisse Dalawis led the discussions on the CPS certification scheme in accordance with national mandates and international standards.
Ms. Estudillo facilitated an interactive session on the CPS Certification Process, where participants took part in a simulation exercise replicating actual assessment scenarios. This hands-on activity gave participants a practical appreciation of the certification workflow and decision-making process.
The session also highlighted the framework for productivity improvement, emphasizing the value of structured and systematic approaches in enhancing organizational performance.
Meanwhile, Ms. Dalawis expounded on the DAP CB Certification System, emphasizing provisions tackling impartiality, key certification requirements under ISO/IEC 17024:2012, and the roles of assessors and internal auditors. She underscored the importance of being systematic and independent to uphold the credibility, effectiveness, and efficiency of the certification process.
The training concluded with interactive and collaborative sessions that promoted knowledge exchange and deepened participants’ understanding of the CPS scheme’s certification and auditing system.
