A complementary mechanism to the PQA, the Government Excellence Class (GEC) promotes the use of organizational self-assessment based on the PQA/BE Framework, enabling an agency to determine its relative standing in terms of the PQA criteria categories and obtain recognition for outstanding performance in any category. The GEC Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) has been used in DAP’s pilot-run of identifying a generic approach in introducing and implementing technical intervention. Be it through the PQA, GEC, or BE interventions, agencies identify strengths, as well as, opportunities for improvement and draft action plans, accordingly. The SAT, which was developed and shared by Dr. Robin S. Mann, APO Expert and Global Expert on BE and Benchmarking will be used periodically for better results.
