There is a need for government agencies to improve quality in their operations and services in line with the Administration’s thrust to ensure ‘real change’ in the government. Executive Order No. 605, s. 2007 Institutionalizing the Structure, Mechanisms and Standards to Implement the Government Quality Management Program, was issued to all departments and branches of the Executive branch, including all government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) and government financial institutions, to effect improvements in public sector performance.
The DAP, as a member of the Technical Working Group on Advocacy and Capability-Building of the Government Quality Management Committee (GQMC), and as the National Productivity Organization, spearheads the development of productivity and promotes the principles, techniques, and practice of productivity, offers consulting services for the technical guidance and assistance to all government agencies for the Institutionalization of a Quality Management System (QMS) Certifiable to ISO 9001.
